BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti plans to run for President in 2020

BuzzFeed has been getting more and more involved in politics, especially due to the 2017 election. Most notoriously, their publishing of the full-length dossier alleging Donald Trump’s ties to Russia (most notably, the notion that Trump had a “golden shower” with Russian prostitutes. You can find that article still on BuzzFeed today.

Jonah Peretti is an internet entrepreneur who started both BuzzFeed and The Huffington Post. He’s known for his liberal siding views which are very much reflective on both his sites. He made an announcement today regarding Donald Trump and his political plans.

“It’s not news that the 2016 election was a shock to many Americans. BuzzFeed had a very important role in the election as well. That’s why, I believe, I can help bring America back to it’s former glory in 2020.”

While Jonah has not released any plans regarding his campaign, this is one of many celebrity announcements for election 2020 plans. Kanye West, Chris Rock, Will Smith, and even John Cena. While I personally doubt all of them will run, it’ll be interesting to watch what happens in 2020.
