Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. has been a major player in almost all recent legislation. Thursday he threw his support behind the Republican tax plan, practically guaranteeing it’s approval.
In late July he was diagnosed with severe brain cancer, primary glioblastoma to be exact. The median survival rate of the cancer is approximately 12 months, but it can be much shorter in cases. In a join statement with McCain and his doctors, he announced some devastating news.
“Due to his [McCain’s] deteriorating conditions our previous estimates have changed. The senator has at most one month to live.”
This tragic news also brings another question regarding McCain’s Senate seat and what that means for the Republican’s control over Democrats in the Senate. His passing could cause disruption in the Senate and the rest of the government.
